i think it’s just procrastination… something to do until the lab tech realizes that you aren’t studying Spanish. Instead youre roaming around trying to find something humerous that someone said. Most of the time though it’s fluff, or just lame, uninteresting crap.

I add people who post in other languages. So that shows you how important content is.

I found your blog when I aimlessly typed “fuck twitter” into google.

I don’t know if you’ve answered your own question, Anti-Blogger, but I like the many other questions you raised, particularly concerning the Packowskis.

I signed up… wrote one lame entry about “thinking about ordering Thai food”, felt emptier than before and slightly ashamed, and decided Twitter sucks… I think.

Well, I’m glad too see it’s not just that I’m clueless; this Twitter thing really does seem to be going off the deep end. The first “tweeter” I looked at had posted 800 updates in the last 6 weeks. Do people really have this much free time? I mean, couldn’t all this time & energy be much better spent playing Second Life?

Using twitter as a personal middleware is a neat idea — but in the bigger picture, it’s silly. It’s a single, centralized, point of failure. I certainly wouldn’t consider it a viable option for any sort of system critical application.

I’m glad it’s started some people thinking a bit more creatively, but plenty of options (better options in my opinion) already exist.

Think of Twitter as an application server.
Middleware. It posts updates to alternate output sources. Wrap your mind around that. Yeah, it’s instant messaging. Did you know that apps instant message too? For all kinds of reasons. Now what if my app used twitter to message another app? Not even one of my own. Mmmmm….
